Why This Wellbeing Centre Can Help With January Blues
The Self Centre is a not-for-profit wellbeing centre in Bury St Edmunds. We met Alex, one of the teachers and healers there, who spoke about slowing down rather than pushing through the cold and wet months.
The centre offers Pilates, Reiki, and a wide mix of classes that support your body while also giving your mind some breathing room.
It is the largest wellbeing centre in Suffolk, but it still feels personal. The people on reception make your coffee, sort your lunch, and take the time to check in with you. If you are struggling, or just need a familiar face, you can talk to someone. Everyone there is trained to support and guide you.

Why These Dumplings Mean More Than Just Food
We met Xuerui at Bury St Edmunds' local market and ended up chatting about food, life, and how TANA Dumplings came to be.
She started her business in a way you wouldn’t expect. Xuerui didn’t grow up cooking and never planned to run a food business.
She moved to the UK from China to study, first for her master’s, then her PhD. After finishing, work was hard to find, so she started cooking to support herself. What surprised her was how much she enjoyed it. She noticed most Chinese food here sticks to the same few dishes. Back home, there’s so much more variety. TANA, which means Taste and Nature, is her way of sharing that.
